Lovereading Reader Review: The Carriage House; Louisa Hall

I recently received a copy of Louisa Hall’s debut novel The Carriage House for review from Lovereading. This book is due to be published on the 4th July in the UK.

Hall’s novel tells the story of an ageing patriarch who has always believed his three daughters to be somewhat extraordinary… until the day the sad realisation dawns that they are actually rather ordinary after all.

Though the book was written in a very atmospheric manner, I found the story itself to be rather forgettable. This was overall a 3 out of 5 star rating for me. I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t fall in love with it either.

You can read what I (and other reviewers) thought of The Carriage House here.

Thanks to Lovereading and Viking for the review opportunity.
